Welcome to The Newark Town Bowls Club Website
We are one of the oldest bowls clubs in England being located on our present site since 1809. It is believed that our origins go back even further, when bowls were played on Newark Castle green around 1790.
We attained Charity status as an amateur community sports club in 2007. The same year we built new changing rooms and toilets including facilities for disabled members. This was financed from the sale of our old green-keeper’s house, which is a designated listed building.
Who we are
Our bowling season runs from May until September and we currently play in five leagues based in and around Newark and East Nottinghamshire.
We also participate in various cup and friendly matches, as well as various Club competitions. We have a well-supported social side that runs several events throughout the year.
Our Clubhouse has a kitchen and a licensed bar available for members and guests.
The Clubhouse is available for private hire functions. If you would like to know more, please click here.
